See our little man in action

At least two people will love this video: Isaac (who really gets a kick out of seeing himself on TV), and his mama. This boy LOVES to dance. He does a little jump skip thing, I tried to capture it on film yet I missed it, oh well. Dance little man, dance!

Most of the time I don't have to remind Isaac to say thank you. But sometimes I tell him thank you for having helped in some way, and he repeats right after me, "Konk Koo," like I am reminding him to have manners. Good effort, little man.

Oh, how lovely was the morning

This past Sunday I was invited to teach about the first vision in Relief Society. That has been on my mind lately, and hence the topic of this blog.

My mom, Isaac, and I went to the Sacred Grove in September. The first time I went was in the middle of February and it was COLD, quiet, and secluded...I prefer September...because it's not as cold. I think I was expecting a big spiritual witness about what happened here 187 years ago...expecting isn't the same as receiving. However, I felt happy, liked my company, and enjoyed being there.

Isaac walking outside the Smith family home. This is a replica of the original and was built on the foundation of the original home.

Isaac climbing up the stairs in the old Smith homestead. When we reached the top we enjoyed thinking that this was the same air space that Moroni was in when he came to visit Joseph.

Grandma and Isaac walking into the grove. There are lots of paths (it seems), and we got lost a couple of times, even with all the path signs. The buddy system worked well for us and we did, eventually, make our way out. Jenny and Isaac in the Sacred Grove. I like how I felt here, and I enjoyed the shade. It is very beautiful. There are several old trees that they call the witness trees(I think that is what they call them); they are dieing of some sort of cancer. If trees could talk I would want to listen to them. I had a similar love of some old olive trees in the Garden of Gethsemane, it is believed that some of them may be dated back to the time of Jesus Christ...maybe it is true, maybe it is not, it doesn't matter. What happened there is very real and true.
Good trip; worth the gas to get us there.

The boy, his ball, and a basket

Isaac LOVES balls and baskets. He can spend an hour moving, throwing, and turning his less conventional toys. He especially likes a "race" in the basket, that means his pit crew (aka mommy or papa) pulls him around the dining room.

Baskets are not meant to put things in, but to be put in. A treasure! I can get it. Actually, Isaac doesn't use many words, but rather grunts.
WIPE OUT!
Don't worry-it took maybe five seconds to have that ball and another one and the boy all happily seated in the basket.
