Cool spoon

Inside specially marked boxes of Apple Jacks, comes the the coolest spoon EVER! It's an Indiana Jones spoon that glows in the dark. I wouldn't blame the military if they made them standard issue. Just lick your spoon then stick it in your pocket for quick access for middle of the night raides and stuff. Cool spoon plus you get to eat Apple Jacks. Seems like a win win scenerio to me.

Isaac and his Granny are good gigglers. I am posting this so Isaac and I can laugh when we visit this site.

To shower or not to shower...

I like to take showers in the morning. It's usually Isaac's best play-alone-time, and I often get a little privacy...often, but not always. This morning my little fella threw back the shower curtains, and thrust a yellow object at me, "Light. Light." Being the smart mommy that I am I say, "Oh you want me to turn the light on?" "Ya!" So I turned on the flash light, one of those big-light-up-the-whole-forrest-flash-lights, and Isaac turned it right on me. There I was in my own personal shower feeling totally red in the face, I mean really...you know, they do that kind of stuff Vegas. I am refraining from posting any pictures, thank you very much.

Happy Birthday Isaac!

Happy Birthday Isaac! It was a scant 2 yrs ago that we welcomed Isaac into the world, and we have been happily engaged ever since!

To celebrate we went to a park that had a mini train and carousel. Our friends the Marchants and Ringels joined us for the festivities. Isaac liked the train a lot...but he also liked running around with other little people and the National ball his papa gave him for his birthday.

We completed his train cake at 12:30 am the night before…my kitchen counters are still pretty frosting colors, that stuff is potent. And the truth is Isaac wouldn't have cared less if it had been store bought.
For lunch we had Isaac favorites: red grapes, cheese, juice, Sun Chips, carrots (which he usually just sucks on), and sandwiches. He had a great time with his little friends! Dig in, little man!Zach, Emma, and Isaac enjoying the fruits of my labor.Isaac and Papa (Isaac wasn't a fan the first time around-cold and windy. Usually this elicits squeels of laughter.) Isaac, Xander, and Andrew (below) Get Isaac with other little people and he is thoroughly entertained.Isaac on the "choo-choo!"
That evening Isaac opened his presents, the second one of which was a car garage with a ramp from his Grandma and Grandpa Hatch. Isaac thought it was the coolest thing on the planet, and declined opening any more presents, until Eric forced him to. Isn’t that a little bit like us making him eat desert before his dinner? Well, in any event, every toy he received or already owned went down the ramp.

And in conclusion, let it be known that TRAINS, CARS, and BALLS are all 2 year old Isaac needs to be perfectly happy.

Isaac is proud to announce...

Perhaps it is a concious decision if you want a baby or not. But I don't think you ever make a concious decision whether you want a baby boy or babygirl; it's not like you sit down and have a "planning" session with your honey to decide what you are cheering for. It just sort of happens, you sort of sway one way or the other. Often I hear, "I don't care if it's a boy or girl, I just want a healthy baby." Hmm-how noble of some women. I like Isaac A LOT. And I sort of wished for a little bro for my little man. Not necessarily because I thought a little brother would be a better friend than a little sister. I have two younger brothers who are all boy and I wouldn't trade them for five sisters. I adore them. My decision came from experience...we've done alright with with one little fellow, we should be able to do alright with another. Plus Eric thinks males are the superior gender and I want whatever makes him happiest. (Are you reading this Eric? It's just that most of Eric's free time activities are scheduled around males, and he would rather do yard work than watch a women's team. Huh, Eric?)

Can we do girly? Many of my favorite women in the world have wished it on me: my mom, Kelly (my only sister), and even my dearest friend (who is very girly) Anna. "I hope you get a girl" they said. Before my mother even new we were expecting she told me she was praying for me to get a girl, and when Christy prays, the heavens move. And I will tell you truthfully that I DO WANT A GIRL! I like girls. Girls are great... I don't care what I get I just want a healthy baby.

So that brings us to my doctors visit. We did a sonogram in his office and when I inquired what exactly he was looking at, he told me he was trying to see if he could discover the gender.
Isaac is going to get a little brother! I like boys. Boys are great...I don't care what I get, I just want a healthy baby.

Go Blue Eyes, Go!

Not blogging novel style today. Today is more like a short essay.
I am adding a dancing video: is Isaac playing the drums, practicing the haka, or simply feeling the beat? Whatever he's doing, it makes him happy. Go Blue Eyes, Go!

PS This down loaded yesterday...but then I fell asleep. Happy Eastering everyone.

Aunts + Balloons = Happy Isaac

Isaac is a fan of Grantsville, or at least the people he gets to see there. Andrew came down and Isaac ADORES him. When we were walking into a store I offered to pick Isaac up. Where else in the world would he rather be than in his mama's arms? In Andrew's arms, that's where. Andrew threw him in the air, and chased him around, and was generally the world's best uncle and Isaac decided they are best friends.
We got to be with Michael on his Birthday! Happy Birthday Captain Vegtable! I am a fan of the man (I should patent that phrase) and his wife and kids are pretty cute too. Isaac's creature of preference is Angel, loves that dog. Ang kindly offered to let me have him, and I regretfully had to decline, as the end choice would end up being between Angel or Eric. I choose Eric...therefore Isaac's choice is made for him.

Amy and Katie came to visit us the night before we left. Isaac and I both like 'em A LOT. Isaac especially likes it when Katie repeats Walt Whitman poetry. Isaac just put his little arm around her and listened for a moment and then kissed her cheek. And then he smooched her. Cheers to Amy for getting it on pic. I couldn't love them more. Darling, charming ladies whom I love to be with.
