You should know better than that....

Seth was pulling at a toy Isaac was playing with. It's good for Isaac to share but Seth cant have everything he wants. As I was pulling screaming Seth away, Isaac pipes up, "Seth had it first." So I interject, "Isaac why did you take it away from Seth?" The question that is meant to be a lesson, you know, the you-should-know-better-than-that question. But Isaac took my question literally and said, "Because I like it. It's cool." ".....oh."

Why would I ask such an accusatory question. I should know better than that.

ICE! ICE! Baby!

That is what kept going on in my brain when we went to visit the ICE! exhibition. Not the music but the words. It was a agreat family date, though a little expensive. Ice sculptures were everywhere, hence the "ICE! ICE!" And we all looked the same in our blue parkas once we got inside. Exactly the same. I tied a scarf around Seth, but Isaac was one of the masses , and I thought I'd lost my precicous "Baby!" once but he ended up being right behind me. Whew.
Before picture...
After picture...we sorta look like big puffy smurfs.
Isaac LOVES his new gloves. Kept him warm. Than ks Grandma & Grandpa.
The ice slides were cool (pun intended). It was our favorite and Isaac went about 8 times. (I think usually you go down once.)
Eric flew down the slide. He had fun too.
If you go, might I recommend you use scarfs to help distinguish one another. Seth and Santa. The coat was too big and Seth couldn't walk. Yea for Eric's muscles.

Let the royal rumpus start!

We left 2009 with smiles on our faces (see Isaac's picture). Isaac and I are agreed that a festivity without hats is not a party. So we went to Target in search of our head toppers. But alas, Target had no new years hats. Are you kidding me? No hats. So we made our own and I think they were 500 X better than any we could buy at Target. I'm thinking this may be a new tradition.

Unfortunately the coolest hat, Eric's, is not pictured. Eric was the designer of Seth's hat, but really the masterpiece was his own. It was Napolean'esc with red spikes running down the spine. Drats. Hats off to Eric!

Eric won my heart by buying a disco ball. I can't dance, but I can fake if if there is disco light. And we had poppers, those things are just cool. This was my favorite new years eve party to date.

"Tur-duhl" might be our favorite Seth word.
I wore the most un-cool hat of the evening.
Isaac really was all smiles. I am including this picture because it is makes me laugh.

Merry Mayhem

I didn't send out a single Christmas card. Nor did we put up lights. Instead Isaac Seth and I flew to Washington while Eric went on a business trip to Belgium and then got stuck in Paris. This is the second year in a row where Eric has been to France before Christmas. I said to him "It stinks that I am not there with you." Maybe he thought I said "I stink" because brought me home some fabulous Fragonard parfum. It's okay with me if he gets stuck in Paris again.

Christmas was great. E's family does Christmas right. Hats off to the Hatches. I love them. Here's a recap: Katie is adored by cowboy Seth. He would say, "Ba- -! Ba- -!" Giddy-up and back sorta together, and horse Katie would willing carry him on her back.
Seth through his arms around Great Grandma Hatch. I think it surprised and delighted her.

Seth learned how to walk. Hurray! Isaac was running within 48 hrs it seems. Seth Lincoln is more cautious. I am officially counting December 21 as the official day.
I really like these people.
Martin and Isaac had a fabulous time together...they ran around "fixing Mickey," playing trains, cars, little people, and everything they could think of. Amy caught Isaac "reading" the comics. He is always looking at Eric's TinTin comic books.
Crossword puzzle eh?
Angel Cindy and her dad Grandpa Hunt.
That funny face, I love it! Seth and Isaac loved looking into the balls.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...who really hangs stocks by the chimney on Christmas eve? The Hatches, that's who. I made Seth's this year (thanks Carol, for helping).
Isaac dictated what Eric wrote in his letter to Santa. My favorite line, "Can I have a ride in your sleigh."
Christmas morning! Everyone was up but Isaac. We had to wake him up around 7:25. Are you kidding me.
Super Seth and Super Isaac really are super. Seth walks around the house saying "Ba Man" even though it is super man cape not bat man. But we love it. He is super at making others smile.

Happy Christmas

That is what Isaac says sometimes instead of Merry Christmas...and it does make me happy.

People always look fabulous on their Christmas cards, but we are seriously contemplating using one of the following pictures for two reasons: Eric HATES taking pictures and I am not sure if I am up to convincing him it would be a good idea, and time, there is none left.

What to do or go fishing?

Did he...you know...just do that?

At some point I told Isaac he could have some frosting when we were all done. "Some point" happened after I had iced the little scallops on the roof. Isaac is a carpe diem sort of fellow, and next thing I know Isaac was licking the roof top...with his tongue.

It's possible...

that I want to just sink my teeth into this scrumdiddiyum tummy. Oh my, oh my, I can not get enough of him, I could eat him up. And I think he looks like his Aunt Amy, who is one of my favorite sisters-in-law. Amy's face, not her tummy.
