Stuffed up

I have been called out before but my little bro who is near and dear to my heart emailed me, "Time to update your blog." It wasn't really a request more like stating a known fact. So I'll tell you about our day.

Seth has a cold, so Eric bought a humidifier. He set it up last night after the rest of us had all gone to bed, and this morning Isaac found the empty humidifier box. Well, it wasn't exactly "empty," it had the styrofoam casing inside. Isaac stuffed styrofoam up his nose. I was not sitting two feet away from him. (This may be a huge deterrent from friends ever asking me to watch their children.) The papa took him to Urgent care and they couldn't get it out, now we have to go to an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist tomorrow. Nuts! This is one of those crazy stories that happen to other people. I am trying to grin, even if it is through gritted teeth. Maybe tomorrow I'll post a picture of Isaac's nostril.

Oh ya, Eric called me on the phone to share his thought, "Isn't it ironic that the thing I bought to un-stuff Seth's nose, totally stuffed up Isaac's." hmph

"SCARE!"

Isaac loves Seth…to death, errr almost to death. He loves to give Seth kisses and then lie ON him, as in Isaac’s belly button is usually smashing Seth’s nose. We have encouraged lieing on the side of Seth and that seems to be working a little better.

The other day Eric and Isaac sat down on the couch next to Seth and it startled him, spazy arms, wide eyes, loss of breath and all that. Isaac thought it was hilarious and now he tries to scare Seth on purpose, the little stinker. While Seth is slumbering peacefully, big brother grabs his leg and yells, “SCARE!” Bless me if I don’t laugh, but it makes me ticked at the same time.

Seth is a cute little chunky monkey. He likes to eat, however, I fret when he starts nursing and then starts to fuss, then cry, then scream. I think it is because he is impatient with the flow of milk. He likes it fast and furious, and if it isn’t then he is. Overall our little family is doing well…I think. Eric tells me he would like three more boys so we could have a basketball team. I often feel overwhelmed by things that used to be no problem (ie, showering and doing a load of dishes ALL IN THE SAME DAY). I'm gonna end up on drugs. I believe in drugs, I hope for drugs, and hope to be able to endure...because of drugs. Actually I have a Rx, I think it is for anxiety, but I don’t ever take it because the warnings say it’ll make me drowsy and, shucks, I’m nodding off fairly frequently as it is. God bless us, everyone…and especially Seth and me.

He's soooo romantical

Ever seen a couple so in love it made you sick, or does the mention of the Big D make you queasy; be warned, those with feeble stomachs, this blog is filled both.

I married well...very well. Bless Eric for marrying me and being so darn persistent. "You're everything I never knew I always wanted." The concept of romance is poorly portrayed by Hollywood. They would have you think it's about debonair men whisking their fair maiden off their feet with flowers, charming inside jokes, moonlight walks along the beach...all true but just the beginning.

Eric sent me these lovely flowers BEFORE I delivered Seth, just to say thanks for being willing to be miserable (pregnancy is a killer for me).
Then one night I woke and my sweet husband, my very big and often snoring, husband wasn't lying in the bed next to me. After a short search I found my man lying on the couch cushions in Isaac's room. The next morning he said he thought it would help me get some needed rest.
And two nights ago, Mr. Romance held my head while I puked all over the floor-n-stuff. And when I tried to clean up after myself he wouldn't let me. Are you kidding me. Is he for real? My knight in shining armor carried a towel instead of a sword. To top it off who didn't go to work the next day but stayed home and cleaned my house and held our boys. I'm smitten.

By Popular Demand...

Our sweet Seth...we sure love him. This little mama is thrilled that he has dimples just like his daddy and his brother. I heard him laugh for the very first time on Friday, Aug 28, we were at the Dr.'s office, and I blew in his hair. He smiles when I circle my finger on his cheek.
"Gamma" with Isaac and Seth. Isaac thinks she belongs to him, and we wish she did. We like her...A LOT.
Strange picture, but it showed Seth's face the best. Isaac loves his little bro, and wants to "take" (hold) Seth often. He gives him lots of sweet kisses and some rough ones as well. Isaac also likes to pet Seth, sometimes he uses his whole arm to smooth Seth's hair.

Several of you have asked for more pictures of Seth. Ask and ye shall recieve (Eric is posting again. Go E!)

Seth (round II)

We brought our little bundle of joy home on Monday, August 11, and we've been on our toes ever since. Some friends came to visit me in the hospital the day before we came home and brought our baby some blankets. Isaac really liked one of them so we wrapped it around him like a cape. Fast forward to Monday afternoon. We had burrito wrapped our baby in a similar looking blanket and put him in a bassinet in the front room. Isaac must have thought it was his. I saw Isaac tugging hard on the blanket so I tried to stop him. Some times simply standing is an incredible feat for this c-section mama, and it's take an exaggerated effort. When Isaac saw me trying to get up he whipped that blanket as fast as he could and then ran. If Seth ever becomes a stunt skateboarder or ice-skater I'll let him know he has already done his first 360. The best part is that he kept sleeping.

Seth

Seth was born at 3:12 pm on August 8. He weighed 9 lbs 5 oz. I still have not gotten the length/heigth measurement. Mom and son are doing well. Isaac and Grandma came for a visit. Isaac was very sweet to his little brother.

"D"elight

Life is delightful! Here are a couple of "D"elights that make my face smile and my heart sing.

Daisies-I just love 'em. Especially in disposable drinking devices (what am I doing? Do I think I am playing scrabble or something?) Anyway, I love them because they last a long time and are pleasant to look at. They just make me happy. Theses particular daisies were given to me by my friend Julie. She cut them from her garden, which makes me love them even more.
Dimples, especially on this little guy! I am relieved he still has them cause I kiss his cheeks so much I might kiss them right off. He got his papa's cheeks, lucky little man. Dimples to die for, that's what I say.
Daddy-Isaac's daddy to be more particular. I am a fan of this big man. Yesterday Isaac and I went to pick him up from the train. As we were walking down the street Isaac saw Eric half way down the block and ran full tilt. Eric is adored by me and Isaac, and he does a pretty good job of adoring us too! Hurray for the best daddy in our whole world! We love being his.
